Infuse your space with the rich, historical character of this authentic antique oval mirror, an essential accent for any Dark Academia study or Moody Vintage interior. Based on the solid wood-paneled backing, oxidized hardware, and frame construction, this piece confidently dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. It features a classic gold gilt wood frame detailed with an elegant inner beaded trim and a distinguished rope-twist outer border. The mirror glass itself is a standout feature for collectors of atmospheric decor, exhibiting significant, beautiful degradation—including heavy desilvering, foxing, and dark spotting—which creates a hauntingly clouded reflection. Please note that alongside this heavily distressed glass, the frame shows age-appropriate wear, including minor surface cracking (at top and bottom of frame) and typical rub-off to the gilt finish that reveals glimpses of the underlying plaster structure, ultimately adding to its time-worn patina. Whether elegantly propped on a marble console amongst antique leather-bound books or hung as a textural focal point in an antiquarian inspired gallery wall, this mirror delivers unparalleled antique charm and authentic character.

VINTAGE & ANTIQUE Vintage and antique items are pre-owned and aged goods. In most cases, we do not clean or polish any items that come into our shop. Once you remove an item's traces of age and patina it's not something you can reverse, so we leave those activities up to the buyer. Vintage prints purchased from this shop could originate from any print media (e.g., magazines, books, photographs, art prints, etc.). We try our best to describe items accurately and disclose any and all flaws and imperfections. Please refer to pictures as a visual description.
