Antique Small Gentleman Portrait in Period Wood Frame

This striking antique piece marries a substantial, rustic wooden frame with a distinguished period portrait. The frame itself is unusual and compelling, crafted from a thick block of dark-stained wood, possibly walnut or chestnut, featuring soft, rounded corners and a deep-set oval aperture that creates significant depth. It possesses a rich, time-worn patina with honest signs of age, surface wear, and handling that add tremendously to its historical character. Nestled deep within the recess is a soft sepia-toned photograph of a bearded gentleman dressed in formal late-19th-century attire, his steady gaze captured from another era. The reverse retains its original textured backing paper secured by age-darkened brads, along with a small metal loop for wall hanging. Condition:
The frame and photo both remain in excellent condition. This frame may have, at one point, held a different photo. It looks as though the original leather backing has been striped for photo replacement.

SHIPPING
As much as possible, we utilize recycled shipping boxes. The box you receive your item in may show signs of wear and pre-use.
