Presenting a captivating early 19th-century antique engraving featuring the historic ruins of Lindisfarne. Titled "Lindisfarn Abbey. West Front," this detailed print was published in London on March 1, 1815, by Longman & Co. for the renowned publication The Border Antiquities of England and Scotland. The artwork was masterfully engraved by J. Greig, based on an original painting by Luke Clennell. It beautifully captures the romantic decay of the famous Northumberland priory, complete with grazing sheep and figures in the foreground that provide a sense of scale and pastoral charm.

The engraving is elegantly mounted beneath a wide, cream-colored mat and housed in a handsome, textured gilt-wood frame that perfectly complements the historic weight of the piece. The artwork and frame are in wonderful antique condition, showing a gentle, age-appropriate patina. The reverse is finished with standard brown backing paper—showing some expected wear and small punctures—and is equipped with a wire, ready to be hung and admired. This is a fantastic piece for collectors of British antiquities, architectural prints, or anyone looking to add a touch of 19th-century history to their gallery wall.
