This captivating early 20th-century still life oil painting brings a perfect touch of moody antique and traditional English country charm to any curated space. Painted on artist's board, the composition features a beautifully textured rustic woven basket tipped on its side, spilling an abundant harvest of vibrant yellow apricots and deep red cherries across a muted, earthy surface. The rich, dark foliage and soft, atmospheric greenish-grey background lean beautifully into a dark academia aesthetic. The artwork is signed in the lower right corner, though the artist's full name is tantalizingly obscured beneath the lip of the frame, revealing only the first few letters.

Based on the partial "F. Weber & Co." art supply label affixed to the dark backing board, along with the aged brad nails and antique hanging wire, this piece can be confidently estimated to date from approximately 1900 to the 1920s. The painting is wonderfully presented in an antique gilt wood frame that boasts a smooth inner bevel contrasted by a highly ornate, neoclassical floral motif along the outer edge. Both the painting and the frame exhibit a beautiful, authentic patina with minor wear appropriate for over a century of age, making it an ideal anchor piece for a vintage kitchen, dining room, or sophisticated study.
