Elevate your traditional dining experience with this exquisite set of six antique white porcelain bone dishes, crafted in Limoges, France, during the late 19th century. Manufactured by the esteemed partnership of Charles Field Haviland and Gerard, Dufraisseix & Morel (CFH/GDM), these pieces date precisely between 1881 and 1890, as indicated by their distinct underglaze green maker's mark. Originally designed to rest seamlessly against the curve of a dinner plate to hold discarded fish bones or fruit pits, their classic crescent silhouette brings a refined, Gilded Age authenticity to the modern table. The stark, pristine white of the porcelain provides a magnificent, crisp contrast when layered into a Moody Vintage tablescape or placed atop a dark, Ralph Lauren-inspired tartan or mahogany dining surface. A close inspection of their graceful form reveals delicate scalloped edges and a subtle, ribbed molding that catches the light beautifully. The collection makes a striking visual impact whether arranged together on a table or displaying their neat, undulating profile when stacked. Finally, the historic "CFH / GDM FRANCE" provenance stamps are clearly visible on the pristine undersides. Whether utilized for their original culinary purpose, repurposed as elegant butter pats, or simply displayed as part of an English Hunt Country cabinet collection, these Victorian survivor pieces offer enduring, sculptural elegance. One of the bone dishes bares a small chip is the bottom footing (see listing photos).
