  • Details
This antique Eastlake wall shelf is a striking piece of Victorian architectural salvage, repurposed to add historic character to any modern wall. Likely originally serving as the decorative crest of a 19th-century high-back pump organ or hall mirror, this piece has been saved and converted into a unique floating ledge. It features the signature geometric elegance of the Eastlake style, highlighted by a central "sunburst" or fan motif and delicate incised "spoon carving" along the upper edge. The wood boasts a deep, dark walnut finish that has aged to a rich, moody patina. As a true salvage item, it bears the honest marks of its past life, including visible wear, chipping along the edges (particularly on the side brackets), and a rough-hewn back that speaks to its authentic history. Fitted with modern hanging hardware, it is now perfectly suited for displaying small curiosities, vintage books, or framed art in a Dark Academia library, hallway, or gallery wall.

    Condition:
Expected aging and wear consistent with antique age. Once hung against a wall it's best to add a spacer between the wall and back of shelf for optimal mounting angle. Equipped with hanging hardware.

Measurements (approximate - rounded to the nearest quarter inch):
    35.5 inches in length
    6.75 inches in height
    3.75 inches in depth

    VINTAGE & ANTIQUE
Vintage and antique items are pre-owned and aged goods. In most cases, we do not clean or polish any items that come into our shop. Once you remove an item's traces of age and patina it's not something you can reverse, so we leave those activities up to the buyer. Vintage prints purchased from this shop could originate from any print media (e.g., magazines, books, photographs, art prints, etc.). We try our best to describe items accurately and disclose any and all flaws and imperfections. Please refer to pictures as a visual description. We want to make sure you are happy with your purchase so, please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have prior to checkout.
