This beautiful antique print captures one of the most iconic landscapes in American art history: "View on the Seine: Harp of the Winds" by Homer Dodge Martin. Originally painted in the 1890s and housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this evocative scene features tall, slender poplars along the River Seine that resemble the strings of a harp. This specific reproduction was published by the prominent New York firm Morris & Bendien, a leader in the "gift art" market during the early 20th century. Their peak production occurred during the 1920s and 1930s, making this piece a quintessential example of the atmospheric, Impressionist-inspired décor that graced the parlors of the American middle class during that era.

Adding to its rich history, the piece retains its original vintage label from Fried’s Art & Gift Shop, a long-standing landmark of downtown Denver located at 1522 Stout Street. This provenance, combined with the original period-correct gilded frame, dates the assembly of the piece to approximately 100 years ago. The frame features intricate floral and foliate carvings with a textured "pebble" inner border that perfectly complements the soft, muted tones of the riverbank. While the paper backing shows the expected character and wear of a century-old antique, the print itself remains a striking survivor of American art publishing, offering a bridge between the prestigious galleries of New York and the historic gift shops of the West.

    Condition:
Good condition with expected wear consistent with vintage to antique age. Original paper backing is torn but remains intact.
