Add a touch of old-world European charm to your home with this stunning vintage Hungarian olive jar. Crafted from vibrant, deep green glass, this substantial piece stands 14 inches tall with a 10-inch diameter, making it a commanding presence whether displayed on a hearth, a large kitchen island, or a sunlit console table. The jar features the quintessential "wavy" texture and occasional air bubbles characteristic of authentic handblown glass, reflecting light beautifully and showcasing its unique artisanal origins. Its wide, threaded mouth and gently tapered shoulders provide a classic silhouette that pairs perfectly with farmhouse, Mediterranean, or eclectic interior styles.
This piece carries a wonderful sense of history, evidenced by its authentic weathered character. It remains in sturdy vintage condition, though it does feature internal staining and debris settled at the bottom of the jar—remnants of its original life and utility that add a layer of rustic soul to the piece. Whether used as a vessel for dried botanicals, a base for a custom lamp, or simply left as a standalone sculptural object, this jar is a beautiful example of functional European folk art.
One of the bubbles on the exterior jar resulting from the handblown construction is ruptured (see listing photo). This is a surface imperfection and there is no depth or sharp edges in the breakage. Otherwise, this jar has no chips, cracks or breaks.
