Excellent antique condition with age-appropriate wear. The painted surface shows signs of minor cracking, crazing, and a scratch on the top of the female portrait, consistent with its age. Dust under glass. The male portrait is missing the velvet backing. The glass on the female portrait has beveled edges, and we believe the glass may have been reinstalled backwards at some point. The gilt metal frames have a beautiful, heavy patina and some areas of wear and tarnish. These signs of age are part of their historical charm and do not detract from their haunting beauty.
