Bring a touch of old-world elegance to your dining table with this beautiful vintage master salt cellar. A charming relic from a bygone era, this piece is not only a functional condiment holder but also a stunning decorative object that speaks to the rich history of formal dining. Master salt cellars were once a centerpiece of formal dining, serving as a sign of a household's affluence and attention to detail. This particular set is a wonderful example of that tradition. The beautiful craftsmanship of the silverplate and the simple elegance of the glass liner make it a versatile piece that would complement both classic and contemporary decor.

The silver-plated holder features an intricate, pierced gallery with an openwork pattern, supported by a classic pedestal base. A gracefully arched handle completes the design holding a complementary, diminutive salt spoon in place. The removable glass liner is designed to protect the silver from the corrosive effects of salt, while the small spoon was used to sprinkle salt onto food. This set is perfect for serving finishing salts, herbs, or spices.

This piece is in good vintage condition, with a lovely aged patina that highlights its authenticity. The glass liner is intact, and the spoon fits securely in the handle. The master cellar bares no makers mark and the spoon is not original to the piece and is embossed PLATOREG EPNS MADE IN ENGLAND.
