This stunning engraving originated as a book plate that has been matted and framed. Each quadrant of the engraving depicts a part of the glass making process, from top left, Fig 1 - "Blowing", Fig 2 - "Casting", Fig 3 - "Polishing", and Fig 4 - "Furnace for Artificial". The engraving has been matted nicely in a vintage light-colored metal frame. The engraving itself is estimated to be from the 1800s and bares signs of antique age in the form of foxing, discolorations, and fine creasing. The matt shows minor wear consistent with vintage age like denting and small tears. The frame is in sturdy condition but does show similar signs of vintage age with minor scuff and abrasions. And overall, very stunning antique industrial piece perfect for a gallery wall, office space, man cave or even a kid's room. A beautiful gift for a glass collector, glass blower or glass artist. There is a hanger on the back of frame making it ready to hang in your space. See listing photos for best description of condition.
