Victorian Double-Ended Scent Bottle, Faceted Ruby Red Glass, 19th Century Antique

Presenting a striking large Victorian double-ended scent bottle, sourced directly from Ireland, crafted from rich, faceted ruby red glass. Dating to the mid-to-late 19th century (circa 1860–1890), dual-purpose vessels of this type were traditionally carried to hold perfume in one chamber and pungent smelling salts in the other. While specific hallmarks are not visible, the piece strongly reflects the craftsmanship of prominent English makers of the era, such as Sampson Mordan & Co., who popularized this elongated, polygonal silhouette. The bottle is fitted with dual silver-toned caps adorned with delicate, hand-engraved floral and foliate motifs. One end features a hinged lid that opens to reveal a small interior glass stopper, while the opposing chamber is sealed with a threaded screw-on cap. As is common with authentic, frequently used antiques, the screw-on cap exhibits a visible dent along its edge and minor structural flaws, though the deep red glass body remains wonderfully vibrant and intact.
