This rare and compelling piece of World War I military history is an original composite memorial print titled "The Story of the 'Sixty-Fifth'", honoring the 65th Regiment Coast Artillery Corps (C.A.C.). Published by Henry N. Mather of New Egypt, New Jersey, this intricate artwork features hundreds of individual soldier portraits meticulously arranged to surround a central image of their commander, Colonel Benjamin H. Kerfoot. The piece is as much a historical record as it is art, detailing the regiment's exceptional service record, including their journey from Puget Sound through the Panama Canal in 1918, their deployment to France aboard the H.M.S. Mauretania, and their distinction as the only American unit to fire the British 9.2-inch Howitzer in action.

The print is housed in its original dark wood frame, which retains a deep, authentic patina that perfectly complements the sepia tones of the lithograph. Decorative patriotic elements, including an eagle, the American flag, and the regiment's "65th CAC" designation, are woven into the composition, creating a powerful visual tribute to the "Sixty-Fifth." This is a significant find for collectors of WWI memorabilia, military genealogists, or those specializing in American artillery history.

The print is in good antique condition with age-appropriate toning. There is some visible surface wear and minor paper loss/abrasions to the decorative border (notably near the bear and flag motifs), which adds to its storied, 100-plus-year-old character. The original lightweight frame is worn but structurally sound with minor corner wear; the original wire hanging hardware is present on the reverse.
