  • Details
This is an exceptionally striking and large pair of decorative ewers, perfect for creating a dramatic focal point in a classical, Grand Tour, or maximalist interior. Likely dating from the 20th Century, these pieces exemplify the enduring appeal of the opulent Neoclassical/Empire Revival style, often associated with Hollywood Regency and Mid-Century Baroque decor.

The vessels feature a commanding contrast of materials: the main body is expertly formed from warm, rich copper, set against elaborate accents cast in luminous gilt brass. Design elements include highly scrolled, sweeping handles and heavy pedestal bases featuring ornate classical molding. The body is further decorated with intricate brass appliqués, including stylized Ram's Heads (Bucranium) and elegant Laurel Garlands draped around the copper vessel.

The tops of these pieces are open, allowing for versatility in display. They are perfectly suited to be utilized as vases for tall, dramatic dried florals, botanicals, or feathers, making them an effortless way to add height and classical flair to a mantelpiece, sideboard, or console table.

Disclosures: Small dent to side of one of the ewers (see listing photos). One of the Ewers tilts slightly, but only noticeable upon close inspection. Heavy patina.

Measurements (approximate - rounded to the nearest quarter inch):
13.5 inches tall (at tallest point)
    5.5 inches in depth
    4 inches in width
    3.75 inches diameter base.
