Early Vintage to Antique Haviland Limoges Porcelain Canister Jar with Hand-Painted Grapes - Signed M. E. Goodrich

Step back to the elegance of the Victorian and Edwardian era with this exquisite antique Limoges porcelain canister jar, featuring a stunning, hand-painted fruit motif on a genuine French porcelain blank.

This charming, lidded container bears the authentic underglaze green mark "Haviland France" on the base, dating the porcelain blank itself to the prime manufacturing period of 1894–1931. The piece also features an impressed mark of "D. & C.," indicating the blank was made by Delinières & Co., another prominent Limoges factory, and decorated by a separate studio or individual artist.

The entire surface of the jar and its lid is masterfully covered with hand-painted clusters of rich purple grapes intertwined with foliage and delicate white blossoms, set against a soft, variegated pastel ground that fades from creamy yellow to pale green.

Adding to its unique history, the painting is personally signed by the artist, "M. E. Goodrich," identifying the talented individual who transformed the white Haviland blank into this unique work of art.

Perfectly sized for a vanity, dressing table, or kitchen shelf, this jar would have originally held biscuits, sugar, or bonbons, but today serves as a gorgeous decorative catchall, trinket box, or display piece. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or breaks.

As much as possible, we utilize recycled shipping boxes. The box you receive your item in may show signs of wear and pre-use.
