Vintage Silver Plate Compote Dish with Rope Trim | Tazza or Pedestal Bowl

A beautiful vintage silver-plated compote or pedestal bowl featuring classic Neoclassical styling and a desirable aged patina. This elegant piece is perfect for adding a touch of old-world sophistication to any decor.

The form, often called a tazza or sweetmeat dish, consists of a wide, shallow bowl set atop a stately, slender stem and a circular footed base. The rim of the dish is beautifully detailed with a classic rope-twist (gadrooning) border, adding texture and visual weight.

This versatile item can be used in numerous ways throughout your home for serving, using as a riser for display, or as a trinket and catch-all dish.

Excellent vintage condition with a beautiful, heavy, unpolished patina. This light-weight compote has no visible dents or plate loss. Item is sold unpolished to preserve its historic character. If you prefer a bright finish, we recommend using a gentle silver polish. No makers marks.

SHIPPING
As much as possible, we utilize recycled shipping boxes. The box you receive your item in may show signs of wear and pre-use.
