This impressive vintage lidded ice bucket, created by the renowned Leonard Silver Manufacturing Company, is a standout piece of American barware from the late 20th century. Marrying the warm luster of copper with finely detailed silver-plated accents, this bucket offers a perfect blend of classic style and practical function. More than a simple bar accessory, this piece represents Leonard Silver's legacy of producing high-quality, traditionally styled hollowware for the modern home. The "E.P." mark confirms the electroplated silver, a testament to the manufacturing techniques of the period. The commanding jaguar head handles and the luxurious combination of copper and silverplate make this an exceptionally well-designed piece. Its uncommon construction—featuring a durable copper exterior and a substantial insulating milk glass liner—sets it apart from more typical all-metal ice buckets of the era.
Whether placed on a bar cart, used as a centerpiece for a special occasion, or simply displayed as a planter or decorative accent, this Leonard Silver ice bucket is a unique and collectible item. It offers a touch of classic sophistication and a testament to quality craftsmanship that will enhance any space.
Details: Stamped on the base with "LEONARD E.P." along with the company's hallmarks (crown, shield, and lion). Circa 1970s. Copper body and lid, electroplated (E.P.) silver handles and finial, and a removable white milk glass liner. The bucket's polished copper exterior features a beautiful, aged patina. It is accented by ornate silver-plated handles shaped like a majestic jaguar's head holding a brass ring in its mouth. The matching lid is topped with an elegant, silver-plated finial. The thick, removable milk glass liner is a key feature, providing excellent insulation to keep ice frozen or a bottle of champagne perfectly chilled. This construction also prevents condensation from forming on the outside.
Condition: In good vintage condition. The copper has developed a lovely, natural patina, and the silver-plated elements show some signs of age, all of which contribute to its authentic vintage character. The milk glass liner is in excellent, intact condition.
