An absolutely stunning amber-yellow piece of Bullicante art glass. The Bullicante technique, meaning "boiling" in Italian, is a Murano glassmaking technique developed in the 1930s. It creates an illusion of bubbles trapped within layers of glass by submerging a spiked metallic mold of molten glass into another layer, trapping air. This intensive process, requiring extreme precision and temperature control, creates a mesmerizing effect of depth and movement, originally used for large Art Deco items like chandeliers and vases, and later adapted for smaller objects like bowls and paperweights in the mid-20th century. This particular bullicante bowl is dates back to the 1960s. Unsigned. No chips, cracks or breaks. Minor wear consistent with vintage age.
