Antique Rockford Silver Plate Co Baroque Rococo Quadruple Silver Plate Footed Squirrel Bowl 1882-1925

Originally the Racine Silver Plate Company, Rockford Silver Plate Company established itself in Rockford Illinois after a disastrous fire at the Racine Silver Plate factory in 1882. The Rockford Silver Plate Co. produced high-grade silver-plated table ware that were exclusively sold through retail Jewlers throughout the country. In 1925 the company was acquired by Raymond sheets and became the Sheets-Rockford Silver Plate Co and operated until 1956. This Baroque Rococo style squirrel dish is signed "Rockford Silver P. Co. Quadruple" on the bottom of the vessel indicating it was produced sometime between 1882 and 1925 and was quadruply silver plated (4 layers of silver plate). This particular footed bowl is well tarnished and has a really beautiful patina. I have seen similar bowls in this pattern polished to a brilliant silver shine, but we prefer to keep the patina intact on this one. It is excellent condition and has been well taken care of through it's time. There are no flaws or damage to disclose, just a beautifully aged piece. As much as possible, we utilize recycled shipping boxes. The box you receive your item in may show signs of wear and pre-use.
